WELCOMING REMARK FROM
PRESIDENT, STUDENTS' REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL 2007/2008
OF INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA
Dear brothers and sisters,
Student Representative Council (SRC) of IIUM is very pleased to welcome you to Garden of Knowledge and Virtue and we would like to congratulate you for the admission to this university. Pursuing your degree here means that you are a part of IIUM big family and we hope you will enjoy your time studying here.
The university has been providing the students with many facilities and accommodations in order to create a very effective learning environment for the students. Hence, you should grab this golden opportunity to gain knowledge and enhance your spirit as much as possible which can benefit you in your future life in this world and more importantly, in the hereafter. The significance of studying here is not only to provide the nation with intellectual graduates, but it is also to serve Allah as a good servant of Him.
Brothers and sisters,
The beautiful surrounding of this Islamic university hopefully will encourage you to create and adapt a very good environment inside the campus as well as outside the campus since we will bring the identity of this Islamic university. We are the ambassador of the university outside the campus. Knowing the importance of cultivating good morality among the student, SRC will be very pleased to have your cooperation in creating and adapting a good Islamic environment in the university.
Furthermore, SRC is looking forward to create a tight bonding with new student. As a representative which is elected by the student, SRC is responsible to manage the affairs of the students and serve the student and we will surely take into account student's voice and problems. We will be very happy to hear any idea or problems from the student and please do not hesitate to forward it to SRC or come to the office.
Finally, on behalf of Students’ Representative Council, we are very proud and happy because we will be in a large family with all of you in the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue. Let us show our gratitude to Allah swt and firmly unite in the name of Islam.
